Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Captions Generator at captionsgenerator.app ("the service", "we", "us"). By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
Captions Generator transcribes the speech in your videos and audio, lets you edit and style captions, and exports subtitle files and captioned videos. Transcription is done by AI and can contain mistakes, so please check your captions before you publish them.
Your account
You need an account to generate captions. Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 16 to use the service.
Your content
You keep all rights to the videos, audio and captions you create. You give us only the limited permission needed to process the audio you submit, so we can return a transcript to you. You confirm that you have the right to use any media you process with the service.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service to:
- process content that is illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- abuse, overload or try to get around the limits or security of the service;
- resell or automate access to the service without our permission.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Plans and limits
The Free plan is free to use within limits on file length, export quality and daily usage, and free video exports carry a small watermark. Pro is a paid subscription with higher limits and extra features, as described on our pricing page. Current prices and limits are shown before you buy. We may change limits for fair use; changes to a paid plan apply from your next billing period.
Payments and subscriptions
Payments are processed by our payment partner, which acts as merchant of record: it is the seller of record for your purchase, handles the payment and any applicable sales tax or VAT, and its terms apply to the transaction. We never see your full card details.
Pro is billed monthly or yearly in advance and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing page in your account; Pro then stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you won't be charged again. Availability
We work to keep the service running well, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop features.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or business. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending use
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end or suspend access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we will tell you before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.
Your rights as a consumer
Nothing in these terms takes away any protection you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.
